We specialize in patent-protected, Type-3 composite gas cylinders also capable of ultra- low temperature storage, designed for high-pressure and sustainable storage of liquefiable gases. Our advanced systems efficiently captures and store boil-off gas, reduce methane emissions, and eliminate the need for costly re-liquefaction.Our Ultra-low temperature cylinders are designed to store higher quantity of Gas for same volume at ultra-low temperatures. Built for performance and safety, our storage solutions contribute to a cleaner, low-carbon future.

Innovator, Founder and Director

  • Gopala Krishna Vinjamuri is the CEO and Senior Principal of Vinjamuri Innovations LLC established in 2013,  an US based small business company. He is a well-known expert in the field of composite cylinder design, testing and manufacturing. He holds the Patent related to  manufacture process for metallic liners for filament wound composite -Type 3 cylinders.

  • 50+ years of multi- disciplinary engineering, R&D and government service experience. Prior to starting Vinjamuri Innovations LLC , he held senior positions including over 15 years in industry and 17 years in US Department of Transportation ~ on (US-DOT) as a senior technical officer – regulations and enforcement  in Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration(PHMSA). He has authored relevant publications including US DOT Standard for Fully Wrapped Carbon Fiber Composite Cylinders (DOT-CFFC) which is the forerunner for the ISO Specifications applicable world-wide.

  • Post retirement developed an innovative manufacturing process for metallic liners for filament-wound composite high-pressure tanks. Mr. Vinjamuri pioneered the initiation of fiber glass reinforced plastics (FRP) technology He holds a US and India patent, related to manufacturing process for composite cylinders.  Obtained a patent for process to handle LNG Boil-off Gas.

  • Earlier, in his career, while working at the National Aeronautical Lab., Bangalore India (1960-69), pioneered composite materials technology introduction, (India Patent Specification #111958 1968 for ‘An indigenous design of filament Winding Machine).   Developed filament wound FRP Nose Cones for Weather Rockets RH-75, for (Late) Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at TERLS, Trivandrum

  • He is still active in both national (US) and international standards (ISO) committees as related to compressed gas cylinders.

  • Awards include United Nations – ICAO Fellowship for training at NASA Hampton VA (1964-66), and India Invention Promotion Board Presidential Award (1968).

  • Authored and co-authored multiple papers and reports​

  • 1964

    THE BIRTH OF FILAMENT WINDING TECHNOLOGY

    Our Founder contributed to research at NASA Langley Research Center, participating in the development of rocket motor casings for the Polaris missile program.

    1967

    GROUNDBREAKING FILAMENT WINDING TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHED

    Mr. Vinjamuri led the development of India’s first indigenous filament winding machine. This pioneering achievement earned him a patent and the prestigious Presidential Award from the India Invention Promotion Board.

  • 1968

    INSTRUMENTATION OF WEATHER ROCKETS

    Our Founder, Mr. Vinjamuri, engineered filament-wound FRP nose cones for the RH-75 weather rocket program at TERLS, Trivandrum, contributing to India’s early space research efforts under the leadership of (Late) Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

    1973-1975

    PIONEERING CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF FUSION POWER REACTOR

    Our Founder, Mr. Vinjamuri, acted as Principal Engineer for the development of a liquid helium dewar system supporting the conceptual design of a shock-theta pinch fusion power reactor.

  • 1985

    PIONEERING COMPOSITE HYDROGEN CYLINDERS FOR TRANSPOTATION

    Mr. Vinjamuri pioneered the manufacturing process for large-volume(JUMBO) composite hydrogen cylinders designed for high-pressure storage and transportation in tube trailers.

    1988-2005

    FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REGULATOR SERVICE

    Serving as a regulator with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), our Founder authored pioneering regulatory standards governing carbon fiber and filament-wound composite cylinders. These foundational standards subsequently influenced and evolved into international ISO specifications.

  • 2013

    PRODUCTION BEGINS!

    Drawing on decades of leadership in aerospace engineering, composite materials, cryogenic systems, and regulatory innovation, our Founder got awarded patents and established Vinjamuri Innovations in Virginia, USA. The company serves as the hub for patented technologies and advanced composite manufacturing processes.

    2020

    EXPANSION

    Building on the success of the U.S. operations, our Founder established Vinjamuri Innovations’ India branch to strengthen global manufacturing capabilities, technology transfer, and strategic collaborations.
